About World of Warcraft Classic Gold

Since taking the MMORPG genre by storm in 2004, Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft has been one of the most popular games on the planet. After creating a character from one of several races – humans, gnomes, orcs, etc. – players are thrown into the world of Azeroth where the Alliance and Horde are in the midst of an ongoing war for power and control.

Starting with limited abilities and gear, players progress through the world by completing quests and increasing their power at every level. Players must always keep an eye out for members of the opposing faction because player-versus-player combat is an ever-looming reality. With WoW Classic, Blizzard has taken its flagship game back to its early days and stripped away most content that was added via expansion after release.

As was the case in 2004 upon WoW’s initial release, currency is much harder to come by in WoW classic than it is in the current version of the flagship title. Like markets in the real world, every server in WoW has an economy that is driven by the game’s base level of currency: gold. Silver and copper represent smaller units of currency, but they amount to gold in the way that pennies amount to dollars.

In WoW, there are as many ways to earn gold as there are to spend it. Some common methods include looting the gold from fallen enemies, selling unwanted gear and materials to non-player vendors and completing quests to earn gold in the form of a reward. Earning gold becomes even more interesting when other players get involved; it is possible to make gold very quickly if you have materials, gear or skills that can be sold to other players. Every server has an auction house which is driven by players on the server, and this venue can be one of the most lucrative for making large amounts of gold.

In any case, gold is difficult and time-consuming to acquire, and many players have started outside services for exchanging gold from outside the World of Warcraft.
