About Diablo 2 Resurrected Gold
Diablo II Resurrected is a new version of Blizzard's classic action RPG that has been updated for modern gaming platforms. If you played the original Diablo II, you will feel right at home here; the only tweaks have been to the graphics and networking. In fact, PC gamers can import their saves from Diablo II and continue where they left off in Resurrected.
For those unfamiliar with Diablo II, you can choose to play as one of the following character classes: Amazon, Necromancer, Sorceress, Barbarian, Paladin, Druid, or Assassin - and adventure through five acts in search of the Prime Evils.
As you see to purge the world of demons, devils, and their corrupted followers alone or with friends, you will find gold and magic items, and improve your character's abilities with class-specific skills.
Diablo II was made in an era where microtransactions did not yet exist; as such, gold is the only currency you will need to worry about.
You can't acquire gold with your credit card, only by looting chests, defeating monsters, completing some quests, and even passively through certain magic items.
Unlike some older RPGs, where gold acquisition is automatically added to your character's inventory when monsters are defeated or chests are opened, gold is represented as a physical object in the game and its exact appearance depends on the volume of gold in the stack.
It is also worth mentioning that gold takes up no space in the grid-based inventory system of this title; players of the first Diablo were relieved to discover that gold no longer occupied spaces of your inventory-every 5,000 gold pieces carried around in Diablo I ate up a 1x1 square of inventory.
With Diablo II, players can hold up to 10,000 gold per level and store an additional, larger amount of gold in their Stash.
You can spend Diablo 2 Resurrected gold on:
- Purchasing weapons, armor, items, and consumables.
- Gambling on magical equipment - while you know what sort of item you can get, the magical qualities it will have are totally randomized.
- Repairing equipment - weapons and armor have durability in this game and dying or taking damage can take a toll on that durability. An item with 0 durability is useless until repaired. Blacksmiths can repair your gear for a minor investment of gold.
- Death - while you do not "buy" a death, dying eats a percentage of carried/stored gold equal to your level but caps at 20%.
